    Hey
Looking for some advice on an egr valve please.
engine light is on in my 01 VW Bora and is reading egr valve fault.
Thing is I got a new one about two years ago, do I really need to do it again or can I clean it out or something?
I think it cost me €240 to replace before.
    thanks :)

What engine is in the car?

    What code/codes are actually recorded?

What diagnostic equipment was used to diagnose fault?

    Are there any symptoms?

    Draper.

Id advise go to someone with professional diagnostic equipment. It should give more information.

Post your location, someone here might be able to look after you!

    Hi,
if it does turn out to be the EGR valve, and its still in working order, they can be removed and cleaned, with carb/ brake cleaner.
2 years is a short time for it to become blocked up though, unless your doing a lot of short distance driving and no motorways.
