Hi. I got a saorview box off a mate who got a new telly so it should work fine. I also have one in another room which is working so my aerial is fine. I have tried first time installation also. I have sky free to air coming through the aerial from a splitter in the attic and am wondering is this the problem. It wasn't before the switchover, sky was just on channel 9.
All I get is "no channels found".
    Any ideas?

Can you find out which UHF channel (nos. 21-68) your Sky box RF output is on? Easiest way might be via the TV tuning menu: select no.9 on your TV & go into the menu & it should show which channel it is picking up the Sky box output.

    C68 corresponds with channel 9.

Channel 68 is well away from the channels used by Saorview, so there shouldn't be any serious interference coming from the Sky box.

Have you tried the 'new' box connected to the aerial lead of the working box in the other room?

Ya. Just tried there. It worked no problem. I moved it back again thinking it might remember the channels but while there is a list, there is no picture. My sky feed is now not coming through on channel 9 either.

Is the Sky box in the room where you just tried the Saorview box? Did you put the cables back the way you got them?

Ya. I have now removed the new saorview box from the loop and put the aeriel in the bedroom back into the telly as it was before and sky is back on 9. maybe I'll just get a guy to look at it tomorrow, cheers

You need a cable from the Saorview box aerial-out, to the TV aerial in, so the signal from the Sky box can get to the TV's analogue tuner.

So, the working aerial feed is in the same room as the Sky box & other rooms are fed from the Sky box RF2 output, via an unpowered splitter in the attic? You could try removing the splitter & just make a 1-to-1 connection to the room where you want the new Saorview box & see if that makes any difference.

    Hi,

I have a Walker Saorview ready tv and am using an indoor antenna. Up to about two weeks ago the Saorview was working fine and I never had any interference issues. Suddenly it stopped working. I have tried to retune multiple times but just says no channels found. Any ideas?

Assuming the TV is OK it could be the indoor aerial not being good enough for reception, it may have been borderline until now something has now affected the signal. Difficult to know without sticking a signal meter on the aerial.

Have you tried moving the aerial to a different point in the room?

You could try testing the aerial on a window sill facing your recommended transmitter - http://www.saorview.ie/get-saorview/make-the-switch/coverage-map/

Yes it's a powered aerial. I brought the tv downstairs and it found the channels and stored them but it's still saying 'no signal' when I try to watch the channels, very annoying! Any idea where I would get a signal meter? Also how would I know if it was a problem with the tv?

    Thanks!

Any decent signal meter will set you back many hundreds of euro and so probably not an option. The TV should have a basic signal quality/strength meter in the form of a % reading or a bar scale which will give you a basic indication of what the signal is like.

The only way to know if the TV is working OK is the connect it to a known good aerial.

With a weak signal the receiver can store the channels and other data but for the TV channels you require a consistently good signal.

What is the make and model of your TV?
