    Happy New Year Folk.

I have just fin fitting a new bracket on my FTA dish.Having finally aligned the dish and doing a rescan,I now only have the uk channels. No Films.no Sky news,no CBS also I cannot get BBC 1 HD nor BBC 2 HD.

Any ideas what is going on?I am using a Walker TV with built in FTA-no problems whatsoever before today.
Have tried adding missing channels mannualy but not finding them.
    Thanks in advance.

So you've moved the dish onto a new bracket and you're still using the Walker TV to view the channels?

What did you use to re-align the dish when you attached it to the new bracket? Which channels are you receiving and what is the signal level/quality readings on those like?

    Apogee thks for your help.

I used a sat meter to realign the dish.

I have all BBC channels but no HDs.All ITV and CH 4 are fine incl HD.Quality on what I have is perfect as before .The scan gave me 183 channels .

I cannot say for certain that my dish is correctly aligned apart from it appears to be pointing similar to my neighbours and got a strong signal on meter. At one stage I appeared to be lined up to Astra 1 getting only German TV.

Don't know what more to say.

    Thanks
    Phoenix

If the only channels that are missing are the BBC HD channels, then it's most likely a receiver issue rather than anything to do with the dish/alignment.

    A few things to check:
Are you sure the HD channels haven't been scanned in somewhere but with a different channel number to before?
Have you entered the manual scan parameters correctly, including the correct modulation? e.g. for BBC One HD : 10847, V, 23000, 8PSK (DVB-S2)

If the above still fails, you might consider doing a factory reset on the Walker and trying again with a manual scan.

Interesting question Apogee-as the Walker menu dose not allow me to enter the 8PSK anywhere. It does give me an option for "Network channel scan" options are enable or disable-currently it is disabled.

I'm not familiar with Walker TVs, but page 15 of the manual suggests that you can change modulation (QPSK or 8PSK):

I seem to have a much simpler menu which dosent give me such options.

Based on what I am receiving and the fact that quality is fine-Can one assume that Dish alignment is not the issue?

Yes, it appears to be a receiver issue only.

Can you also confirm if you can now receive Sky News, CBS and "films" (Film 4?)?

Finally got sorted today. After hours of settings and numerous factory resets on TV,my son went back to the dish with the meter. When he connected up, there was no tone,he happened to move the arm unintentionally and got a tone.He got the tone back by lifting the LNB arm slightly and signal shot way up on TV.
at the moment all he has done is lifted the arm slightly by wedging a 50 cent coin in where it joins the dish.

Apogee many thanks for all your help-it was much appreciated.
