    Im a 26 year old qualified healthcare assistant nd want to start nursing in september. wheres the first port of call? can someone walk me through it?

    Its relatively straightforward but the main points to note are:
    You need to get an application to CAO by the 1st of Feb listing your course choices. Be sure to use the mature course codes for nursing courses.
    You have to register for the mature student assessment tests on www.publicjobs.ie You usually cant register on this site for the nursing tests until after the CAO closing date.
    The assessment tests usually take place in late April and your results here determine whether or not you get a course place.

    The nursing careers centre have a really good booklet on the whole application process for all candidates, Leaving Cert, FETAC and Mature.
