6 months contract?

I am looking for unlimited usage Internet connection with 6 months contract only.
Any idea which company can offer me it?
I am based in Waterford city.

Magnet provide a no contract broadband product AFAIK

Other than Magnet, I don't think there is any other provider that would be suitable for your needs, keep in mind that with any "unlimited" plan, there is a FUP. Make sure you read through it. Magnet do limit speeds of you go past your limit during certain hours.

hasnt happened to me once in the last month or so and i go over 4GB near daily

That's only 120 GB a month. Most fup's only kick in when you exceed 300 GB.

it looks like i will order magnet only.
I use about 150-200 GB monthly so i guess that would be fine right?

I would definitely recommend Magnet, they're the only ISP who as far as I'm away provide a rolling 30 day contract.

is it the case even these days?

Whats the total net charges for Fatpipe 24 (€36.99/month)? Including other fees and VAT, etc

what has a 4GB limit per day have to do with that? the way magnet is supposed to work is if you download more then 4GB between 4pm-1am they rate limit you to 5mb down (was 1mb down at some stage) until 1am and then bring your speeds back up to normal. alto as ive said already this hasnt been in effect for the last month or more on my account. and i defo pass out 120gb per month.

my total for the last 5 months sits on 2700gb+, thats around 540gb per month.

so have you another incorrect answer for this?

I had blue bloody murder on the phone with Magnet over that cap threatening to leave and go back to Eircom and they have yet to enforce it on me....

Fatpipe 24 is a package i wouldnt touch, its the old style ADSL2+ and this package is also where 90& of complaints on magnets network come from. old tech rebranded as new. STAY CLEAR. in reality if u dont live inside the exchange you wont get anywhere near 24mb, you'll probably get more around the 12mb mark depending on line quality.

Fatpipe 70mb is re-branded Eircom efiber VDSL and is a much better product, have you seen any new green street cabinets pop up close to you recently? the look like the one on the left below

I don't need very high speed, if the Fatpipe 24 can give me speed as shown above in the picture, then I will take Fatpipe 24. I just download few movies, facebook, email, thats all I do.

that being a UPC connection, no. youll never get a upload speed anywhere near that with oldstyle ADSL2+. upload will be more the 0.52Mb/s range.

your in waterford city and that means VDSL (fatpipe 70mb) is defo available and will give you speeds close to what i showed you (line length depending)

Ok, but can i get download speed in this range?

Fatpipe 70 is little bit over my budget at the moment thats why I am inclined towards Fatpipe 24, if download speed is 15 mbps and upload 1mbps is fine.
What do you suggest?

One more question:

The landlord already has UPC connection in the apartment from previous tenant, if I order UPC Fibre 50, do I have to sign 1 year contract, given that UPC cable is already there?

And if i sign 1 year lease with UPC and move to another county after 6 months, can I transfer this UPC internet connection to another county without breaking the lease? Do I have to pay again reconnection fees due to moving to different county?

just wanted to say stay clear of pure telecom. At the moment im paying for broadband and phone. when we switched we were told we would get the same speed as our previous connection (which was 8 down and 1 up) However since day 1 they have been trouble. I get a 1.5 down and 0.2 up. so much for the same as our previous... And on top of all that we had to wait a week for them to actually set up the internet on their side aand even after that, the connection was frequently going down. Thankfully our 12 month contract is up and we will be hopefully switching to fibre optic soon.

The op said he uses 4 Gb per day. 4x30=120 Gb per month, not a huge amount. Nice attitude btw.
