Beef Marinade

So I ordered 2 fillet steaks in an online shop. When the delivery came, they were out of fillet steaks and delivered two thick, lean beef medallions instead (far cheaper).

I don't know what cut of beef they are, but they look like they could be tough due to the lack of marbling. Does anyone know what cut 'medallions' usually come from?

I'd like suggestions for marinading before eating in the hope that this will make them more palatable. Help?

    Ah well.

In the absence of a marinade I fried it and sliced it and made a sandwich.
