    Hi everyone,

I'm looking for advice as to which of the colleges mentioned in the thread title would be better for the P1 ACCA paper part time course commencing in Cork? (i.e lecturer, notes etc.)

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance. :)

I never went to Griffiths College but I did P1 with Shane O'Grady in Independent Colleges & I thought he's an excellent lecturer.

He's focussed on exam technique (vital for ACCA's IMHO), and uses real life examples to explain the theories -very handy when some of the Ethics topics are rather boring.

Thanks Fuzzy for the response, dont suppose you are Shane O' Grady ? ;)

If it's Cormac doing P1 in DBS - Stay away. To be fair P1 is a paper you could do at home with notes and books. There's little other than theory to learn, methods etc aren't necessary. Learn the theory, know how to apply it, practice past papers.

Edit - Re Books and Notes, I would recommend BPP over Kaplan

No Cormac won't be in DBS this year, don't know anything about the new guy.

Also second the BPP books over the Kaplan.

Wouldnt recommend Gary (cant remember surname) in Griffith for P1, however if Martin Corboy is still lecturing on this subject I would recommend him. Yes I was taught by both

I did P1 in Griffith in Cork and I would not recommend going there.

The lecturer isn't great and her solutions to past/practice kit questions are very basic.

Also, I would agree with previous posters with regards to the BPP study kit being better than Kaplan.
