    Hi,

was just wondering if anyone has any helpful tips for travelling around Europe?

Was thinking of starting Krakow-Budapest-Vienna-Prague-Berlin-Amsterdam-Paris-Barcelona.....What do people think of this route?

Was thinking 22nd of July as a start date and go for between 20-25 days?is this sufficient and an okay time to go?

Is there a need for a EuroRail ticket or would it be best off buying tickets as you go?

I was thinking between €1,500 and €2,000 to cover all costs for one person?Would this be enough?

    Any help would be appreciated.:):)

The budget looks a little low, given you'd be travelling in high Summer.

Just guesswork on my part though. Jump into Seat61 to get an idea of costs & what's possible / advisable and plan your itinerary accordingly.

It's an amazing resource for rail travel across Europe & the wider world.

There's a few long journeys there, which will probably be expensive. I'd say the global eurail pass is probably as cheap as it'll come (bout €400). So €1600 each for 25 days leaves you with bout €65 a day. Not a lot really, depending on what you want to eat (restaurants or supermarkets), sleep (dorms/tents or private rooms), see (just the outside of things or going into attractions) and drink (happy not to go to pubs/clubs?).

My advice would be to cut down on the number of destinations and stick to 20 days. More time in eastern europe too is cheaper also.

Watch out for some countries rail company's only having Interrail seats available at limited times only. Eg. you might have to leave at an early or late time going from Paris to Barcelona.
