Me again! We have discovered that my sisters wedding dress is identical to the dress my cousin wore a few years ago - absolutely identical! We only saw the photos so never realised it until they were chatting about where they bought their dresses etc. Now no problem I hear you say, it was a few years ago, however you have never met my aunt! Also cousins husband passed away a couple of months ago so sis really doesn't want to wear the dress now.

3 months to the wedding she is going to have to buy off the rack if she wants to get another one. We are going to try Oxfam as they have a good selection I believe. Any other suggestions? She is about a 16/18 and less than 5ft tall so I would imagine its going to take some work to find!

Would she consider adding a belt to dress or get something done to the back (if it had a low back) or a wear a cover up?

You should chance your arm and go into the bridal shops, I ordered mine with 15 weeks to my wedding and they had it ready for me 10 days before my big day!

I then went in about 3 weeks later and got my bridesmaid dress so I definitely think that it is achievable.

    Best of luck!

Belt or cover up etc wouldnt work - it would still be obvious.

Memories Bridal on Parliament St in Dublin do second-hand dresses. Also Banardos Bridal have shops in Dun Laoghaire and Carlow, all of their stock is donated brand new by bridal shops!

Bring it to a dress maker they can work wonders.

I second Memories, its where I got mine, also Oxfam although they have loads they have loads of smaller sizes I needed a 16 and choice wasnt great, but its luck of the draw with them depends on what they get in

I agree with Moonbeam..also the same dress can look totally different on different people so i would say just a slight adjustment or addition...good luck
