T'is as bad as the storm of '62 I tell ya where a bin blew over too but thank the merciful lord it's not as bad as '79, the worst storm to have ever struck these isles where 2 bins blew over.

I haven't been outside yet so I don't know for definite if the bin actually blew over, but it sounded like it did.

Feckin wind seems to have been kicking off since november. Pity it does not bring some snow with it.

Sorry to her about your bin OP, my thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

    Storm in a teacup

Next storm that comes along Im going outside with a teacup.

Then the storm will technically be in my teacup.

Some things just have to be done.

It's horrible when that happens. I hope you and your family will pull through this.

Have you went out and assessed the damage yet?

    All joking aside....Where's you bin?

We found one of those huge car covers stuck in our tree. Why on earth would you put what's basically a big loose sheet on a car in gale force winds? It' in our bin now. It's fortunate that it didn't blow in front of a car and cause an accident.

I remember the Great Power Cut of '09. Had no electricity for six months.

Turns out it was just me. Hadn't paid my bill.

That would be a teacup in a storm.

After going outside to investigate, I discovered that the bin had indeed blown over. While I turned the bin upright I got a little bit wet from the rain which caused me some discomfort.

I will report back later with more news. Keep safe.

There was some very upset shop owners in Galway(I think) on the news.
All their stock was destroyed but its hardly surprising.
Their shops were on Flood Street.

There are a few threads in regional forums and Weather.
In Galway it was pretty bad alright, lots of flooding.

It's not a real storm until you have Trampolines:

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

―Oscar Wilde predicting Social Media, in The Picture of Dorian Gray
