looking for some advice please..currently driving 04 caddy van 1.9 tdi have bought it second hand in 06 had little trouble with it other than wear and tear(parts expensive)economical to run.want to purchase new similar van or up to medium sized van as expect running costs to increase but it seems like i would be paying for the name in comparison to the spec on offer by the hyundai iload , the vivaro/primstar/traffic or the ford transit custom.
im driving 20,0000 to 25,0000km a year and asking for sound advice from people who have driven or worked on any of above or other recommendations ..over n out

    Hi there,
I def think you should give Volkswagen caddy or transporter another chance! Whilst they don't compete on initial price, when one looks at the total cost of ownership, Volkswagen is well up there, ie. residuals, warranty. Another thing one has to factor in, is what does your van say about your business, if a tradesman drives upto my house in a Renault, vs a Volkswagen, it states the credentials for the business one has. Volkswagen are currently offering excellent finance options through Volkswagen Bank and also have excellent spec on their vehicles, if thats what one takes into consideration. The Caddy and Transporter now can come with added trendline pack which makes for a real drivers machine!

A caddy max or whatever its called would be worth a look

My favourite mid sized van is the Hyundai H1. Very comfy, 180bhp as standard, RWD, twin sliders and double rear doors.

Dunno if Hyundai is bothering selling vans/comm jeeps anymore though.
