Satellite thicko here so forgive questions if stupid.
Bought 1 of these today but haven't opened box yet in case I've to return it.
It says it has a 7 day epg but does this mean its freesat as opposed to fta?
I doubt if lidl is paying license to freesat as the unit was only 60euro.
I thought only freesat units had the 7 day epg?
Also what about recordability as it only has a scart out to tv and a hdmi out to tv? There's a slot in front for ci-plus card and a smaller slot over it that is unmarked.
Could this smaller slot be a usb out for an ext hard drive?

My requirements are simple; 7day epg and recordability

The 7 day EPG will be the standard EPG used in Germany and some other countries not the special Freesat EPG. Freesat does not use this standard 7 day EPG.

Thanks. Will the epg have a brief description of each programme as in freesat?

Even if you plug in the machine, I would think that you could still return it if you do not want it.

The only programme info you will get for UK channels is 'now & next'. The old SD Silvercrest box I have, shows a short description for the 'now' programme only.

Thanks. If that is the case I will be returning the unit.
