A question for the New Year

I used to think that only people from the USA and the People's Republic of Cork pronounced 'new' as 'nu'.

In recent years it seems to have become much more common, and now I seem to hear it very frequently, especially on the broadcast meeja.

Do you pronounce 'new' the old way, or the 'nu' way?

How do you pronounce 'new'? 9 votes

I used to think that only people from the USA and dublin pronounced 'media' as 'medja'.

In recent years it seems to have become much more common, and now I seem to hear it very frequently, especially on the broadcast media.

Do you pronounce 'media' the old way, or the 'medja' way?

Coming from the individual who pronounces 'want to' as 'wanna', we can safely assume to choose the opposite of everything you think is correct. :pac:

This isn't a real place, more a state of consciousness for geebags.

It's up there with the 'Irish by birth, Munster by the grace of God' shíte.
