Ideal Mini S24 boiler

    Hey all,

Having a problem with my Ideal Mini S24 boiler (well i think its a problem).
The pressure on the boiler currently reads 0, but when I turn it on, the pressure increases to about 2/2.5. When the boiler turns off (timed or manual)... it eventually goes back down to 0 again.

I have opened the valve with the U pipe to pressurise it and it does so... but the pressure reduces to 0 after everytime the boiler is on for a period (like above). Should this pressure remain constant? I cant find any leak anywhere so dont know why the pressure keeps dropping off. Any ideas?

    Thanks

Have you checked the safety valve discharge pipe for leakage , should be going out the wall . Sounds like the expansion vessel is either burst or flat .

Needs new expansion vessel and sv valve
If a system boiler would recommend fitting in hot press

Big jump to a new expansion vessel………..!! WOW

The expansion vessel may just need to be charged, a good and proper service should solve in most cases.
As the pressure relief valve may have discharged, it could require repaving as a lot of times it will continue to drip
    (the discharge pipe outside)

The pressure is not constant, but should be about 1bar (up to 1.5) when charged, given a sealed system and cold.
The will rise to maybe 2bar (isn) at full heat, and is being controlled by the boilers expansion vessel (behind the boiler)
if this vessel has lost air charge, it will need to be pumped back up again, checked for bladder failure (would deed replacing in this case)

Where in Dublin are you, a few good guys on about here in the Dublin area, ask for a recommendation.
