    Hi

Can anybody tell me if there is a minimum notice period that I have to give?

My contract only states a maximum notice period.

    thanks

Are you sure your contract states a maximum notice period? Because that makes no sense; "You can only work here for 3 months after you've handed in your notice".

    Details here:

Your contract overrides these minimum notice periods, if the period specified in your contract is longer than the above.

Depends on how long you have been in the job. A week is pretty standard for most service jobs

yep 100% sure it says "Your employment shall be terminable at any time during its term by the Company, or you, giving no more than X months notice"
I thought it was strange too. It doesnt even seem legal to me that the company can arbitrarily give me X months notice to let me go!
