Electronic music producer looking for drummer

drummer needs not be amazing, but basic understanding of drumming should be enough as most of the music will be open to interpretation.

    ive started producing electronic music
i wanted to find a drummer to make music with and to perform live with

im open to doing hip/hop or DnB or house or dubstep or alternative any style at all, just to get a producer/drummer setup going would be awesome

by the way, as much fun as it would be to get this going, id also would be looking to be doing this quiet seriously, so you must be interested in taking on potential tours and gigs if it comes to that
    thanks

Just FYI, I know of at least two DJ / Drummer acts in Dublin & Waterford. And they both tour fairly extensively. Just so you are aware of the market.

are you saying that i have competition? or that theres plenty of touring for this line of music?

Depends really how you want to read it. Theres always room in the market for something innovative if you can make it work and get gigs. In my opinion however, Dublin and the South East would be fairly 'covered' by these acts as I know they do travel. And they both have consistent residency's as well in their respective home towns.

As for touring, its the same as DJing. Limited by where and when you can get gigs and with whom. To be honest, both the people I've mentioned have travelled fairly far and wide as a 'guest act'. They both work independently as DJs as well. Guaranteed work? Not really in my opinion unless you have something spectacular and are prepared to travel. With that said, Ireland is a small enough place and two acts (That I know of, remembering there is probably more) is probably enough.

Definitely don't consider getting a guitarist on board either as there's loads of bands out there with guitarists!

alright ironclaw, thanks. im entirely aware of the music situation as im surrounded by musicians 24/7 and music has always been a tough market since the days of bach so its best not to even think of that too much because its always an obstecle, but if theyre touring alot then it means theres a market, and 2 bands is nothing compared to the saturated markets of other styles. so im gonna take your comment in a positive light then

Absolutely. Seen plenty of DJs in my day but the odd time you get one that does something exceptional and this market is no different. Just keep it unique and ahead of the times. Easier said than done but people will pay for that. I know they will.
