Rent supplement

    Just received the latest rent supplement reduction letter ,

    couple with 2 child dependants based in Dublin but getting less than a couple with no children ,

    Currently receiving 668.07 pm

    Is this correct for the new rates

    It depends on your rent but if your rent is the full 975 then you should be getting €825.

    Just got the phone with my local rent dept ,
    They say I'm the second week person to ring them ,there claiming the letters aren't from any social welfare dept and asked the letter and the envelope it came in to faxed into them asap ,

    No, but there's an address on the envelope. I'm going to give them a ring now... did you ring the Lo-Call number on the letter?

    I rang my local 1890 dept number ,
    Just got a call back from them again saying nobody seems to know anything about the letters ,
    Its a bit of a worry because it suggest's a family of 4 is now only entitled to the less than a couple with no kids

    We received one of these letters today also.

    Our rent was €775, so we where getting €623 and are now going to be getting €601.

    Slightly off topic but our rent has increased recently and we haven't informed the rents unit yet. Does anyone know how to go about this? What does it entail? It's still under the maximum allowed.
