moved from bangeromics, deserves its own thread

Posted up a silver Colt same year a week or 2 back - but I think this is a different car

    2003 Mitsubishi Colt

    114,500 miles

    NCT Sept 2014

    asking 1600 euros

    http://cars.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/03-mitsubishi-colt/6181708

On a related note - this one has extra spoilers etc - which look like the sort of thing Mitsubishi may have offered as accessories when the car was new.

If they are Mitsubishi accessories - do they need to be declared as mods for insurance if fitted at dealer rather then factory???

Those accessories came standard on the run-out colt models.
Mad spec as they still had windey windows.

Well they did stop offering the Lancer of the same era in 01 - but for some reason they seemed to keep selling the Colt.

There are a few with 02, 03 plates on - I actually posted another 03 silver Colt a week or 2 back.

Actually - that's not the right grill I don't think for the very last versions of that model Colt - might be something to do with the spoiler set up - ie was the different grill part of the spoiler/bumper.

I know back in the days of the Nissan Bluebird - it was possible to get grill mounted spotlights as an option or an accessory - but the grill was different - because the spotlights were built into the grill.

    (scratches head)

I'v never seen a colt over 2001 on the road myself.. Until a few weeks ago I actually only thought they went as far as 00.

My one has the wooden steering wheel and wooden dash, Nice little cars for what they are.. Maybe it's just me but are they a rare site on the roads these days? I see very few of them I must admit...

Missed your post Colm - apologies, is the grill part correct???

Thought the correct grill for the later Colts was whats on the one ive linked to below but have never taken much notice of the later ones. They didn't sell very many of them.

Yes, I seem to remember late colts having chrome door handles and chrome grille.

Those ones had nasty looking fake wood around the centre console too. Reliable car but even by 2003 they were dated since that model was launched back in 1996.

Even at that, the 96 model was little more than a revamp of the 1991 model.

Seen one going about on an 04 plate recently. A friend had one years ago, small tip wrote it off. Scarily flimsy.

Very. My cousin was killed in one, and my sister hit the back of a Jeep at 20mph in one. I'll take a pic of the damage...there was quite a lot.

Having said that, I always liked them to drive and in terms of looks. Just rubbish for safety.
