Smart tv wifi problem

    Hi. I have a new LG smart tv in my bedroom that has connection issues with my Upc horizon wifi.

    My speed test from the same room on my TV and laptop differs greatly. The tv has a wifi dongle in it, same brand as tv that I bought.
    Laptop reads ping of 37
    Tv reads ping of 1600
    Laptop download reads 47mb
    Tv download reads 1.5 mb

    Can anyone point me in the right direction on how I might rectify this. It seems to me to be the dongle which I know is compatible is the problem. Do I change the settings of the router to improve the ping?
