    Hey,

Mini One 2004. The brake pad warning light appeared on the dash today but the car was fitted with brake pads all around only 11 months ago. Car has only done 10,000 miles since. The brakes themselves appear to be working fine.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Faulty sensor or something along that line. Drive through any large puddles or hit any potholes?

Thanks for reply. It's the girlfriends car so not sure, but there is a lot of surface water about so maybe it's possible she went through a few puddles.

Are they expensive to buy? Can't seem to find them on micksgagrage?

That model has a brake pad sensor on the front left and rear right hand brake pads. The sensors them selfs are good quality but the wires on them clip into clips on the car and over time can come on done with hitting bumps or whatever. You will find the cable will of being quite possibly rubbing again the inside of the wheel or something.

Either way it's a fair simple fix.
If u need and further info just ask

Does that light warn of anything other than pad wear? Brake fluid level, handbrake?

Couldn't tell you mate, but it might be a good idea to take it back to whoever done the last set of brake pads and explain the issue. Best way of telling what exactly is wrong.
