RTE 2 NYE comedy abomination

Did anyone see the live panel show on RTE2 last night presented by Eoin McDermot and featuring PJ Gallagher, Neil Delamere and Dermot Whelan and a few other nobodies?
Words cannot describe the awkward silences that fell after each flat joke.

PJ Gallagher made a horrific joke about ringing a drug dealer to order a 'Sinead O Connor Sandwich' (aka a plethora of drugs), something I doubt she will be too happy about when she hears

Worst of all, they missed the feckin countdown! Spent 10 mins watching it open mouthed and then the presenter says 'Oh would ya look at the time' and it was 12.02am.
More Unacceptable and unfunny dirt from RTE

Sinead O'Connor lost the plot on Facebook last night. Not about this, well before it, like, but Jaysus.

If someone has a YouTube video of this, it'd be great, I love awkward t.v.

It should be up on the player soon, dot even know what I was called! Also saw Sinead losing the plot on Facebook too, had to 'unlike' her page it was so annoying. No doubt she will lose it tenfold when she hears about PJs joke

Whatever about the programme, an edited panel show recorded weeks ago was never going to have a Countdown to Midnight.

No OP, I watched the RTE 1 NYE 'Joe Duffy soapbox' abomination for a while and switched over to the Beeb for some real entertainment for midnight.

So it wasn't live? Seriously? Finding that hard to believe

There is no way RTE would have two live shows at the same time on NYE on different channels, with an additional Outside Broadcast in Limerick for RTE1.

Find it so hard to believe it wasn't live, it was so bad, with zero laughs. Like none. Each joke fell flat and I'm surprised the Sinead O Connor one made the cut

Joe Duffy, the most overpaid man in the country, lecturing us all on the politicians and civil servants that are overpaid... Most who are on less money than him.. My Irony-meter was off the scale (and I'm sure it's working cos I just had it calibrated). He can vote that in his low points of 2014 already..

And I've no idea who came up with the idea of organising two live outdoor broadcasts when they barely had enough bands to sustain ONE. Madness did what they could, but this was a real failure of administration/organisation/logistics...

Just found out it was recorded 12 days ago! I stand corrected- will try get some footage- the panellists also snorted condoms

There is already a thread on it here http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057103263.

It seems that it is a special episode of his up-comming 'comedy review of the news' programme "Next Week’s News"

There was an audio version of it on the RTE Radio One the same day.. I'm not sure it may even have been the same actual recording. They were talking about predictions for 2014..

The entire RTE Christmas schedule was a disgrace.

T.V used to be good at Christmas, or am I just getting old?
