I thought some posh snobs would have pre "booked" if you like, all the number ones for their mercs etc to make themselves stand out (no disrespect to mercedes owners here) :pac:

Didn't John Gormley not stick a €1000 charge on that a few years back?

Does it cost anything to get a particular number?

And these same people will be the ones to change it this time next year! And the cars are always as featureless as a sheet of blank paper, if you can afford a fcuking 141 or whatever in the first place, Y U NO GET FEEETURES??!?!

That REALLY annoys me, I'd rather a car 2 years old, top spec, than a brand new bog spec car.

Me too it p1sses me right off, it is beyond me why someone would spend 10k on something like these, for 10k you could get an m3 or m5 and have some left over "oh but its not a 141 and i can't show off to my neighbors about how much money i don't really have" I'd rather a top spec car over some bog standard p1isshat or skoda outside in my yard everytime

People still need to buy brand new cars so that they can be bought second hand by someone else. And to a lot of people a car is a mode of transport where spec is not priority to them. In all fairness someone buying a basic Focus diesel is hardly going to consider a M3 or M5 just because they can be bought for less 10 years later. Not everyone is a petrol head.

I know a guy who used to change every year but changed twice last year and has a new car coming soon allthough he buys top of the range stuff all the time.

That's the exception rather than the rule though :(

Disappointing thread is disappointing. These threads are usually started with a pic of said Ford Focus and by another poster! :(

Yeah but why buy something that does you for the year, and change it for something that does you for the follwing year. would it not make more sense, mentally, and financially to say invest in a car a few year older with a few bits on it and keep it for a few years, get the most out of it and then go and buy some 141/151 thing? fair enough people just want to show off, or be in debt whichever, or don't want the issues that will come with an older car, but i just can't comprehend spending that amount of money when you don't see it, someone i know on here spend 5.5k on her car, and it was a 07, it had manually adjustable mirrors and windows, seats that may as well have been plywood backed and feck all space, but it was an 07! and thats the main thing

Meanwhile i spend 1500 on mine and it better specced than most cars from 01, anyways you see what i mean, I believe in paying for what you get, not for what you like to show off

Some people spend their money on holidays, on the horses or stick it in their arm, some choose to spend it on a new car every year. Their money, their choice really.

Exactly the guy that works alongside the lad that buys all the cars drives a heap of sh1t but spends everything on the throat. .
