Any suggestions on the best escorted/adventure tour operators for child free late 30s / early 40 somethings for holidays in Europe or further afield?

We're past the stage of roughing it with students in trucks and tents in Africa, but no quite ready for the travel dept type blue rinse brigade either.

    We're in Dublin

I've never done any organised tours before so I could be getting the wrong end of the stick, but I get the impression that while the student , the family and the golden years markets are well catered for , there's a bit of a gap in the middle for non family type holidays.

If your into adventure holidays a climbing ot trekking holiday in the Alps may suit.
I've done trips with Jagged Globe and would have mainly been people in 30/40's, they are expensive but plenty of companies in the alps offering similar for a lower price.

I went to China with G Adventures last summer and had a fantastic time, the group size was 15 and the ages varied from 25 - 45

We had 2 days of trekking the non tourist parts of the Great wall, while staying with a local family in between, bike riding over Xian city walls, Kayaking the yangshuo river. Only a few things we did while there.

We had a chinese tour guide with us the entire time, so our travel arrangements and accommodation were taken care of
