    Specific rules question here.

Can I drive my car through a bus lane green light, when I am legally in the bus Lane (say after 7pm on morehampton road in donnybrooke)

I see some people do it, others don't. I've never been too bothered but the other day I had a bus behind me, and I think the driver edged forward in expectation.

I don't know but it would seem reasonable to assume that the green light is for the "lane" as opposed for the type of vehicle in the lane. So yes, I would assume you can go when it is green.

Seeing you wouldn't get a green light unless it was clear for the bus to proceed, then I can't see any harm in doing so. The only reason I ever see them is if the bus is taking a right turn (For example at Oatlands, Stillorgan on the N11) and would need a few seconds to cross two lanes of traffic.

As for progression or jumping traffic, from the examples that come to mind it would be a minimal saving. So I can't see the issue if its out of hours anyway.

Outside bus lane hours, drive on imo.

Green light is a green light. If you are allowed in the bus lane, there is no issue.
If you are not allowed (inside the operating hours), it is still a green light and you would be done for using the bus lane rather than running green light;)

As far as I know the light at Oatlands says BUS in green, so it could be argued this only applies to a bus not the lane

There's a junction near me where you can move into the bus lane to pass traffic waiting to turn right. Considering the bus lane is in operation, it's a red light, you're top of the queue in the left (bus) lane, to pass traffic waiting to turn right, the green 'bus' light comes on, otherwise the light is red. Can you go?

I assume the green "bus" light means green light for bus lane, not a type of vehicle. If there was a bus behind you, would you hold it up?
Would make no sense, since bus lanes are not exclusively for buses. Green is green.

Yeah, I'd always go anyway as sometimes there would be a bus behind. Makes no sense not to.

Another example of our screwy half-thought out roads....
