Holy ****, I just got fully comp insurance with Liberty for E280.46. That's for me and my wife as a named driver, 3 years no claims bonus, 0 penalty points. Breakdown cover and windscreen included, 300e excess.

I got a quote from One Direct for E788.

How the good f*** were they able to do it so cheap????

Yeah, I had the same experience, damn cheap insurance. Heard some people saying not to rely on them when you need them, but I needed the breakdown cover over the weekend and they had a guy with me in 40 minutes, so...

Depends on the car, some companies will want to fill a quote of a certain risk factor, others will have enough on their books and don't want anymore.

Just make sure you are comparing like for like on the policies.

The 788e quote was the highest I got - the rest averaged out around 450E and all were for roughly the same level of cover. I was surprised at the 500e differential between the cheapest and most expensive

When I am shopping around I usually find the majority are within the ballpark of €100 of each other. Then you get one quote that is on another planet. Incidentally it was Liberty who were on another planet for me last time.

I'd say they are trying to fill part of the space created by 123.ie's recent issues.

I reckon that most companies will be pretty aggressive in the coming year with regards pricing which is good for the average "safe" driver.

Been with Quinn Direct formerly and now Liberty for the last 6 - 7 years, consistently the cheapest by a long shot for like by like cover.

Had 1 small accident a few years back, they handled it perfectly, I've also used their breakdown assistance twice, great both times.

I find Kenco through a Broker much cheaper

Liberty were the cheapest by a country mile when I went to renew this year. Very few companies would even touch the Integra (as usual), but Liberty came in at nearly half the price of all the ones that would.

I have a 9 year old small jeep, full ncb, rural dweller, and am over 40. Their quote for me was huge. Over double the average quote. House insurance quote the same, both last September.
