    How much could customs tax on a laptop that I'm getting from America and are people, in general, always charged custom tax on items coming for America?

    There is no import duty on laptops. You are likely to have been charged 23% VAT on the purchase price plus transport costs.

    Duty and / or VAT always applies to imports over
