How long would it take to travel 250 Miles at 7000 mph?

I say its about 2 mins 8.5 seconds.

She says it would take about 30 seconds.

We're probably both way off, maths not being our strong point at this hour but now we both need to know.

Tomorrow will do if you're all in bed.

    Google isn't working.

Packet of Jaffa Cakes for the one who tells me I'm the correctest !

    Cheers !

How do I know you lot aren't just making this up?

I know people will do anything for a pack of Jaffa Cakes but I need proof.

Anyone can throw milliseconds or decimal points at me.

what the hell is a millisecond anyway? My watch doesn't have them.:(

Here's how you calculate the answer:
    (250÷7,000)×60
    =2.1428571429 minutes

    Speed = Distance / Time

To calculate the time you switch around the equation.

So it becomes : Time = Distance / Speed

What you get is a decimal number which is how much of an hour it is. Multiply it by 60 to get the number of minutes. Which is 2.14 or 2 mins 8 seconds roughly.

Rounding 2m 8.57s to the nearest second, the answer is 2m 9s:)

Now that we're all agreed on the answer, I have to ask...what was the context? A plot point in a movie / tv episode/ book? Or just some idle chitter chatter at 3 in the morning (assuming you're currently in Galway as your avatar suggests)?
