CZ 452-2e barrel length

I'm looking for a bit of advice about a CZ 452-2e .22 rifle I have. I have a Parker-Hale for the rifle and with this attached it is very long. At the top of the barrel, behind the iron sight, there is what appears to be a join/split where the top section was fitted. Does anyone know if this part of the barrel can be removed to shorten the overall length, or if there is a similar thread behind it? I haven't taken this to my local dealer yet, might be heading over there later this week. Any advice would be great.

Attached is an image showing this join/split.

    Cheers

Is it a joint or a very small welded seam.

Anyway straight to your local gunsmith. 100 euro or slightly less if your lucky and you will, get the barrel shortened retreaded and rid of that seam.

    Job done.

That's on all 452's with the blued tapered barrel.

It's not actually a seam, the barrel is one piece. Someone over on Rimfirecentral said it shows where the choke in the end of the barrel starts. Don't know how true that is.

I had mine cut back to 16" no problems and handy length with a moderator fitted. The barrel is all one piece the seam must be a mark from then the iron sight was brazed on.

It's a joint, I imagine that it's welded although in places you can see the seam. Anyone know of a good gun smith in the Donegal area? I don't think the dealer I have been using does any of that kind of work.
