    Hi there

I'm having trouble understanding the terms and conditions of a 10 journey ticket on the bus eirann website pls help!!!

I need to travel abbeyfeale to limerick, 5 days a week. Some days I may get a lift in to limerick, but need to get the bus back.

I have no problem doing the first 'validation' journey from abbeyfeale, but dont want to be in the position of being given a lift in to limerick the next day, and then being told i cant use the ticket for a journey starting at limerick, when i haven't first used it that day from abbeyfeale.... I dont mind forgoing a trip or two for the comfort of a lift!

any help or experience gratefully received!!!!

I've experience of using 10-Journey tickets with Bus Éireann - in a different part of the country but that makes no difference as it's the same ticketing system and rules.

For each journey from the second journey onwards the driver will either punch a small hole in the ticket or make a line or "X" with a pen.

It's not necessary to use the ticket in both directions on the same day so if you got a lift in and used the bus home that's fine. Equally if you bussed in and got a lift home that's also fine.

It's also ok to miss a day i.e. use bus Tuesday, lift both ways Weds, bus Thursday morning.

The 10-Journey ticket can be bought on any day and is valid for 7 days including the day of purchase for a total of 10 journeys within that period. So buying it on Tuesday it would be valid till the last bus the following Monday night.

It's 5% cheaper to buy it online, just print off e-mail and hand to driver. Hope this is of some assistance.

Depending on the route a 10-journey can actually be cheaper than buying four Day Returns, in some cases it's little more than the cost of three Day Returns, so even if you don't use all 10 can still be worth while.

Tax Saver is even better if your employer is willing.
