Motherboard and processor recomendations €200 max for gaming pc.

Im looking to get a new pc together. have about €200 to spare for mother board and processor. want to build a gaming pc (graphics card next month,ram and PSU following that, have case, SSD etc.)

what do you reckon on this motherboard and processor for a gaming build???

AMD FX-6300 Prozessor, Tray, Sockel AM3+
ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0, AM3, ATX

Hi mate that's a good cpu, Im waiting on mine atm. It's particularly useful if you are willing to try overclocking it to max out its performance. A better option if you aren't might be an intel board though they are more expensive...

That's assuming your case will fit ATM and not just mini ATX?

Unless you have an aftermarket CPU cooler you will need the boxed version of the 6300 and not the tray(about 5 quid more).

my last motherboard was gigabyte, worked solidly for 4 years...

Its not a bad board but you can get similar specs for less. Generally you pay a premium with ASUS and gigabyte. But its up to you really if you want to spend more. For 200 quid you could get an 8320 and board for just over 200 quid.

Unless your looking for firewire/usb3 front support and going for a heavy overclock you dont need to spend 100 quid on a board. Also worth noting that if you order things from the same place your costs will be lower due to only paying postage once.

i think ive settled on this combo.
AMD FX8-8320 Black Edition Vishera 8 Core AM3+ 3.5GHz 16MB 125W
Gigabyte 970A-DS3P AM3+ AMD 970 DDR3 ATX

anyone got any advice on that pairing? ?

For another €5 on HWVS I'd get the Gigabyte GA-970-UD3P instead, it has an 8+2 phase CPU VRM which is better if you are aiming for fairly high overclocks of an 8-core FX CPUs.

In that case what you have selected is just fine, you are ordering off Dabs?, I see that board is is €61 euro there so that's a pretty decent price. (And my suggestion is actually €20 dearer there :P).
