Does anyone know if a skiing boot camp exists? I adore skiing but have reached a plateau in terms of technical improvement year on year.

How old are you? There comes a point where you can't learn anymore.
Apart from that, get a good teacher and take private lessons.
I'm just back from Austria, I did that, I know what I do wrong - so did the Skilehrer, but I have too much muscle memory from doing it wrong.. :D

Thanks for reply. Am optimistic that this old dog can still learn new tricks! Don't really want to go down the private lesson route as too expensive. Somebody casually mentioned an intensive ski course in St Anton but cant find detail.

If you want cheap lessons then maybe look at Andorra?

All of the alpine areas are expensive for lessons - Andorra ski schools are partially state funded and much better value. Don't book through the travel agents though, big rip off.

Dinners, have a look at the Warren Smith, courses or Alpine Coaching & also inside outside skiing.

All excellent courses run by top guys with a focus on technique & drills that can correct bad habits while getting miles under the feet.

To correct muscle ,memory in adults it takes thousands of repetitions compared to the 100 for kids but it is possible. I have worked with a ladies in her late 30's this season and completely rebuilt her ski technique

How fit are you when you go on your trips? I was the same as yourself, not seeing a lot of progress on holidays, then I decided I'd try the gym for a few months before a trip. It made a massive difference. Not being wrecked by day three, or whatever, enables you to use the full week to improve, whereas before that I was basically using all my energy to stay vertical for the last few days.

Fwiw I start going three months before my holiday and go three times a week for about two hours. You feel the extra power from the second you put your board/ski on the snow.
