Low mains pressure all of a sudden.

On saturday the mains water pressure dropped a good bit (Limerick Northside), enough so that the tank in the attic won't fill. I called the council and they said no one else had reported problems.

I verified the low pressure by hositing the garden hose up to roof level through a velux window and the flow slows to a stop as you reach chest height on the firts floor.

If this is a wider problem why hasn't anyone else reported it?

If it's just me what could be causing it? Any ideas?

    Tks.

Probably worth checking with neighbours are they experiencing any issues before doing anything else.

If your neighbours haven't a similar problem then the most likely cause is a leak on your own water mains.

    Good idea with your hose.
Plumber would have a pressure gauge. Try blocking cold tap in your kitchen with your finger and then try the same in your neighbours.

Do you have the new water meter fitted? They have a filter that can block
