Just a quick question regarding the 60 day rule. I have a cow I want to sell she was blood tested back in November and she will be sold in January.
When I am counting 60 days do I count the day blood is drawn as day 1 or is it the next day. For example blood is drawn on Wednesday and the following Wednesday is 8 days or 7 when counting to 60.

Thanks for the replies. I suspected day 1 might be the day blood is drawn. That is the date stamped on the card. I counted from then and I can still go to the mart I was planning to.

If they were blooded 10 November then 30 days will be up 9th December. 31 days in December which means you cannon sell on or after Jan 8th.

Unless it's changed it used to be inclusive as well. Best to ring the mart and ask. Used to be out at midnight on that day.

remember drew cattle for a neighbour some years ago, when the dept. used be checking the cards in the shute

dept. man said cards were out of test and directed the cattle to the isolation pen,

owner went to the office and arrived back with the calendar off the wall, and a rather heated discussion followed , anyhow the dept man backed off and allowed the stock to be sold

    don't know the days ,

It comes up automatically on the screen now when the card is scanned. The vet will have the details of tested animals online as clear so the last test date shows up. An issue arises if the animal is for export and the vet hasn't his cleared tests updated but that's another story.

We used to have some people just give us a tag over the phone and check it. Couldn't make any mistake then.
