not the one with the keyboard at the bottom but I think it would for the smaller one that preceeded the touch... Both 6 inches I think

Sorry for all the repeat replies & I was actually replying to the post asking if it would be for the original kindle.... Don't know what happened there!!

what I was trying to say is that I am pretty sure the touch is exactly the same size (6 inches) as the one before it (2nd edition) but not the larger original one with the keyboard on the bottom....

It's slightly smaller. It'll fit in the case but it'll fall out.

This seems like a good alternative if anyone's interested. Very good feedback for this seller aswell, I ordered there this evening http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Leather-High-Quality-Case-Cover-for-the-Kindle-4-With-Built-In-Light-/160886832098?pt=UK_MobilePhones_MobilePhonesCasesPouches&var=&hash=item25759a3be2

Tried to purchase the version for the Kindle Touch tonight, and have shipped to Parcel Motel.

However, the PayPal payment isn't being accepted. Constantly getting the message about "Return to Merchant".

I've logged onto my Paypal account and all appears fine, the ParcelMotel address is in there as a deliver address, so no idea what the hell is going on with it.

Still not working this morning - phoned Paypal, they say my account looks fine and to try again later.

Can anyone tell what format you put in for Parcel Motel address on Ebay/Paypal when doing this transaction?

I've never had an issue using it for Amazon.co.uk purchases, but cannot get the transaction through using my Parcel Motel address.

    Frustrating.

I'm flummoxed then. Cannot understand why they won't accept the payment.

    Eventually got it ordered.
There was an option to pay by card at the Paypal login screen.... i chose that option and it went through successfully.

Can't understand what exactly the problem was - PayPal appear its because my card address is registered in Ireland and Argos said no shipping to Ireland.

    All's well that ends well.

Question for those of you that already have had this delivered. How long did it take for Argos to ship it and send you a tracking number?

It took 2 days to get the confirmation email and shipping details. It took another 4 days to arrive.

Bad news for you Cordni, it won't - I did the same thing, but the standard kindle is about 1/3 of an inch shorter than the Touch.

So now we need to decide whether to buy a Kindle Touch, or see if anyone is looking for a cover for same...

    Cheers,

Deal extreme have some kindle cases with built in light, a homage to the amazon official case. I got the one on the link below, fits and works perfectly. Price varies by colour, the blue one below is €15.05:

    http://dx.com/p/stylish-protective-pu-leather-case-cover-w-led-reading-light-for-amazon-kindle-4-5-deep-blue-266381

Edit: link was for kindle touch, just be careful as they have cases to suit all kindles.

For anyone needing one of these, I received mine over the weekend and it's a good quality case. The Kindle clicks in solidly and you have good access to all the buttons. If I had a very minor quibble it'd be that there's nothing to hold the case closed. No magnet, strap or velcro. But that can easily be solved by getting some sort of elasticated strap to wrap around it.

Yeh what a shame. So would I buy a kindle touch or would I go with the ebay recco? Ebay it was, and it's a great case! Thanks ggmad for the link. Would deffo recommend if anyone is looking for lighted case. You will need to order via parcel motel though. Crazy shipping cost for Ireland

The new Paperwhite seems to be a very nice but not a perfect fit for the Touch case. It's hard to find a Kindle Touch.

I think I'll go Paperwhite, and put the Touch case on ebay/adverts.ie...
