Farewell/Future ASTI

I plan to leave the ASTI next few months once my term as school steward runs its course. The only thing that would keep me in is some real action on JC but Im not optimistic.

Yes voters are now in a clear majority so it has to be asked what mandate CEC members have anymore? We voted 77-45 against HR. Thus its time for the Yes voters to come to branch meetings and make their voices heard. Those who wanted to trust the members but hated HR(ie we must ballot bull) now have to realize that the Government played a hardball campaign of blatant bullying. They were never going to play fair.
Something did happen . The No vote was ahead. I dont believe there was vote tampering but the process of what happens when votes arrive into head office needs to be more secure.
More than likely pure fear got to many members and we will never know if they were right or wrong ie we would be made an example of.

Its the Yes voters union now. Go to meetings. Im done. I might join new union but I wont be paying fees that pay for a roadshow that directly undermines CEC recommendations.
Have a good year. I wont be posting here again or writing letters and hopefully soon I will be out of the Union.

Result of the third ASTI ballot was on 19 December.

I left, by email, on 20th December. . . Of course they're still taking my money without my consent until they post of the "amendments' for January.

The process of intimidation, coercion and threats leading up to the third ballot meant, for me, that this was not a democratic process and thus the result was tainted. . . Something to which the leadership of the ASTI were more than happen to accept.

Consequently the teaching unions are pointless.

I also left first thing the morning after .Considering theyve lost us three school stewards here alone on this thread I wouldnt be surprised if they loose a LOT of the 43% .Heres hoping the ASTI Fightback /'New Union' meeting on Jan 25th at Gresham throws up something positive .
No doubt the $%£"&'s will try and shaft us one last time with an extra fortnight if not MONTHS payments .No better than the mobile phone companies /utilities etc .That will be 12.70/25.40 .....Definitely worth a phone call if not visit by me to reclaim !

Its all done through the union NOT Salaries Section .Just send them an email but make sure you get confirmation and insist you want any overpayments refunded to you.I got mine today (10 or 11 weeks later)
