So I dusted off the old wii because I want to download some old SNES games. Only problem is that i seem to need a "classic controller". Is there any other options here like hooking up a ps3 pad? Best/cheapest place to get them? I would prefer somewhere i could pick them up asap.
    Thanks in advance.

CEX has the official ones for €12, can check the various stores stocks online too.

Gamestop sell them 2nd hand for €15 (if you're not near CEX)

I love the Club Nintendo SNES pads for the Wii, I saw the New pad as well.
But I think there are third party versions too.
And they should work with the Wii U.

Off topic, but those Club Nintendo Snes Wii pads aren't listed anymore. I take it they're gone forever now?

Yes but they seem to be on EBay a lot and not for ridiculous money, given how few of them are about.
Bound to be worth a few bob in the years to come.
The third party WiiU controllers look nice too, the ones that look like they've a SNES pad inset into them, seem to be unlicenced but cool, not terribly expensive either, think they're Wii compatible rather than the WiiU control pad pro thing, even though they were initially portrayed as being like the Bluetooth controller.
