Make sure they credit your account for non service for that length of time!

Hi Jim, my sky went on xmas day, haven't had it since. I'm in Killarney. They told me 24th of January was the very earliest an engineer would be out and would be a €60 fee. When they told me this, I asked to cancel my contract.

I got an appointment for the 4th January, no call out fee and credit to my account for loss of service. Obviously I was bluffing about cancelling my account and would have been very disappointed had they actually closed it so happy they didn't call me out on it.

Maybe ring them again and be a bit more "hard ass" with them. At the end of the day, the people are just working in a call centre an probably don't give a sh!t about sky.

Sky used to have great customer service. Seems to going down hill since they opened a call centre in Ireland. You would think it should be the reverse.

The same thing happened to me last year. the arm of the dish was after rusting through and the dish was hanging.wasn't even 5years old. they told me it was 100 call out and whatever for new dish and 3 week wait.I said to guy that if I went to someone else they'd do it for free. man says why was I ringing so if could get it for free!

anyway asked to be put through to cancel. Free dish free + box credit of three weeks. Guy said even if I had've paid the money I still would've been waiting the 3weeks.

Haha, me too. I got a call today. Booked in for January 7th between 8am and 1pm. All apologies and all. Lucky I downloaded loads of movies and shows in last night to keep me going.
