Christmas isn't Christmas without WSM. It's on Channel 5 at the moment.

A Lithuanian called Lalalas is currently leading Group 2 and he lives in Dublin so we can claim him as one of our own!

(Bloke in second place is called Arsoj - that's Arsehole to you and me! :))

Isn't this what we routinely criticise the British for doing?

That guy Shaw won it, you'd wonder how they do it when you see some of the things they have to lift.

It's no biggie, they're the worlds strongest men. Lifting heavy stuff goes with the territory. They're all really crap at making papier mache though. Now, that stuffs hard.

I taught Technology to Chris McNaughten who is moving up the ranks and has been on Ireland's Strongest man.

he was pretty good at soldering!

It's hard enough trying to claim the sublime Katie Taylor as Irish when her father Pete is a Birmingham native and suspected gypsy.

He trained her well though in fairness.

He's not Irish. He's a foreign fella that lives in Ireland. Just like Daniel Day.

James Fennelly from Kilkenny was in the Giants Live qualifiers ( which were on earlier in the week ) but was injured
The Deadlift in particular was the source of much interest prior to the contest, given the presence of a multitude of 400kg plus pullers in this field. The opening weight of 360kgs saw a number of failures, as did 390kgs. Sadly for Ireland’s Fennelly, he was injured during his 390kg attempt and had to exit the contest.
