Just wondering if anybody did either of the two courses here or if you have heard anything about this college. I have to fill out the CAO by 1st February and any information would be helpful. Also if you did go here what are you doing now and is hotel management a very demanding job?

    Thanks in advance!

Oddly, this gets asked almost every year.

Any job dealing with the public is demanding.

I got offered a place there but decided to do Hospitality Management in Birmingham instead. While Shannon has a great reputation, great locations for placements and an old boys network that should guarantee you a decent job when you graduate I doubted whether the college experience would be much fun. You have to wear a uniform and you're in the grounds of the airport with a limited number of other students.

I suppose it depends on what you're looking for but I reckon if you have a passion for the industry you'll succeed no matter what college you go to. For me, going to Birmingham was a great life experience as much as an educational one.
