Odd issue unlocking Ford Focus MK2

So was moving car earlier to let another family member past me as i was blocking the driveway.

Car made a beep noise that i paid little heed to and i locked it (2 clicks to deadlock it) as usual.

Was out for a smoke there afew minutes ago and went to unlock car to get something out of it and nothing happenned, then went to manually unlock it with the key on the fob and lights flashed but it didn't unlock (im bricking it as this stage as i know it's deadlocked and it would be a window smash job to get it open)

So i go back into the house to get my spare key incase the battery has died on my main key and it unlocks fine and a dash is message is coming up on the dash "Interior scan disabled" and while car is open i check boot is closed properly and other door is also closed properly and now both keys are working again to lock/unlock.

Im baffled and wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what the cause might be ??? Thanks

Battery in car was changed out for a new one afew months ago.

Went back to car a couple hours later

Ok so now the car is still beeping and both keys aren't working remotely.

So only way i can get into the car is a mix of manually using the key and one or other of the fobs once i manually lock the car again but sometime one works and then only the other i think it's a key coding thing to do with the alarm but im not sure.

    Very odd

Not sure if i should be posting this in here or diy but i figure it's worth a shot

See if any of the wiring looms in the doors have been cut as a result of a break in.

Have you tried reprogramming the keys? Turn the ignition on/off 5 or 6 times really quickly, the car will beep then press the lock button, or soemthing similar to that, the correct procedure is easily found online

Tried putting the car in learning mode to no avail. Wiring loom is fine as car was being used daily for the last 18 months.

Battery was changed a couple months ago but worked fine with fobs in the period since until a couple days ago.

I think its more of an alarm sensor issue than a key fob issue as both keys have the exact same issue.

    Both start car fine
Both will remotely unlock the car
Both will not remotely lock the car

    Very odd

Could your fob be on the blink?

I doubt it dude as both are behaving the exact same way and it unlocks fine remotely just won't lock

Not sure if this will work but might be worth a try. Remove both battery cables, and wait a few seconds then touch them together for a while to discharge the capacitors (might spark). Leave them off for an hour or so and reconnect them. This resets a lot of stuff on the car, maybe it will do some kind of reboot on your door software/sensors. Make sure you have the radio code handy.
