    Hi All

I have been looking in to buying a 2010 Citroen Grand Picasso 1.6HDi for the last few weeks now they are going for around €14,500 to €15000. I called a few car dealers and they said €14000 would be the best they could do and that is because I do not have a trade in. So I said I would wait till the New Year to see could I get a better deal and I was told that the price had already been cut as low as it could go to sell the cars off before The New Year and that would be the price it would stay at this cannot be true do cars not fall in value 10 to 12 % a year any help with this I would be very great full

    Thanks

Depends on how they got the cars in the first place. If they're sourcing them in the uk, they'll still cost the same in January as they did last week as their reg plate doesn't change till later in the year.
If they traded them in in the last few months of the year, they would have knocked back the trade in value to allow for the new year.
No harm in waiting a few weeks to sus it out.

They arw just trying to get you in now to do a deal, car prices always come down when the plate becomes a year older. Regards the trade in talk, if you went in with thirteen in cash I'd be amazed if anyone let you walk away. You might have to add up to another five hundred but if ue wont play ball then there are plenty of other garages out there. Remember your in the deciding position not the salesman. You can buy or walk away and it's him that gains or looses a sale.

Shop around a little more. I bought a November 2009 C4 GP last January for 12500 with 2 year warranty.

I had a 07 grand picasso 1.6hdi which i traded 12 months ago,it gave me endless bother lots of engine trouble but also bother with the disastrous electric handbrake[its unreliable and lethal],even more disastrous fold down back row seats, rails broken on them so couldnt be folded down very common problem in these only fix complete new seats at almost 500 euro each.

both locks on the lids on the storage boxes on the dashboard broke[another very common picasso problem] couldnt get locks had to buy complete lids at 170 each. The motor packed in in the washer bottle, had to buy compl washer bottle you know the rest...

dont do it buddy get an smax or cmax or a kia maybe anything but a picasso.

Never had an issue with the auto box. In general, we've found the car very good and reliable. Bought in the Uk 2008 with 8k on the clock, now 74k.
We would recommend as a cheap big 7 seater.
All I'd say is like buying any secondhand car do you homework. Check the cars history, thus trying to minimise buying a dud.
Why not travel to the UK yourself and get a good deal?

We've had an 08 vtr+ model for three years. Covered about 120k km's.
It's been a good reliable car throughout. No electrical gremlins and no problems with the interiors.

MPG is 43mpg, I'd have expected a little more, but for a big car it's not awful either.

Seriously comfortable to drive, have done 6 hour non stop and not felt tires nor stuff getting out.
