Hi, my nephew is 18 soon and I'd like to buy him a bike. Ideally I'd like an old steel racer that I can convert to a single speed and do a nice trendy fixie/ss job on. He's around 6ft 1 or 2.
Ideally a racer frame with wheels will do.
Would also consider a newer Alu racer.
    Budget €120 to €180

I have an old Falcon frame (one of the "design by Ernie Clements" 1970s models) that should suit (think it's 60cm. I'm 6,1" and it's grand). It'd need stripping down though, paint was originally a lovely colour but it's a bit rusty now, or you could lacquer over it as is for proper "beater effect". However, I could sell it with headset, seatpost, stem and bars for €80 and you could grab a pair of the Weinmann wheels that are £100 on Planet X?

Crankset and chain is all you'd need then?

Sounds interesting.. It could be a perfect single speed conversion with a nice set of flat bars.
    Where are you based?

Sure. I'll throw them up when I get back.

    Here it is.

Don't think headset or BB are the best tbh and need replacing. The Seatpost is a Suntour. TT is 58cm and ST is 60. Both measurements are CtoC.

Donie75: Can I take it you're not interested, as I'd like to through up a proper ad if not. Thanks.

Sorry Harry, I only saw your reply now. It won't suit what I need so I'll pass. Thanks anyway.
