If I were to inherit 100k from an uncle I'd be liable to tax of 33% on close to 70k.

If I had a lot of bank shares on which I'd lost thousands could I offset the inheritance tax through selling them that year?

    CAT Capital Acquisitions Tax

    CGT Capital Gains Tax

One applies to inheritances and the other to capital gains don't get them mixed up as they are different taxes.
