Broken S4

    Hi folks,
dropped my s4 a couple of days ago and its now gone to useless. The screen glass itself is ok, its whats underneath is not.
The screen is completely black and no longer responds to any kind of touch or swipe.
Ive been getting away with using google voice since the drop for listening to and responding to text messages and phone calls but as its now not responding to touch I cant unlock the device with the screen lock enabled.

The phone was not insured:( (silly me I know)

What are my options to fix this, do I bring it to my local phone fix chinese guy or would I be better off to send it back to samsung or is that even an option.

Alternatively, would it be cheaper, if even possible, to buy the chinese replica s4 for €60 odd and swap out the damaged parts.

    Thanks folks:confused:

I would send it back to Samsung and tell them your display stopped responding, unless your in a rush, could be something as simple as a ribbon cable coming loose.

Sounds like it could possibly just be the ribbon connector. My iPod touch had the same issue where the phone responded to touch but the LCD was dead - the cable had just come loose after a bump.

Thanks folks, definitely not the ribbon connector though as you can see the obvious cracks under the glass,
Will probably just send it away anyway to samsung just for peace of mind.
