Can someone please tell me roughly how much it would cost to get my window repaired. It just came off its rollers and nearly did a 360. I have no idea how it happened but would it be a fault with the motor?

It probably jumped off the rail it sits on. Take the door card off and reseat it.
A glass shop will also be able to glue it into position, not expensive.

if thats a primera , the plastic clips at the bottom of the glass are broken and can only come on a new glass , you can try rebonding it but they always come away

    Whats the door card?

Yeah its a 2004 Primera. Hummm wonder how much a new pain and fitting it would cost :|

Its the trim on the inside of door, i.e the door handle, the plastic and material ect.

I'd say to go to a local autoglass shop.
It will be an easy job for them and not very expensive.

Are you interested in trying to fix it DIY?
This video shows the main bits in removing card

Yep, had this happen, isn't the clip coming off just a symptom of a bigger problem with the pulleys on the regulator or something?

I guess I should bring it to a garage. Only problem is I have been ringing garages in Clondalkin for the past 2 days and none of them will answer :p If I could somehow keep the window up then I could drive further to another area

Strong sticky tape should hold it in place.

If you have any of those stick on window shades, take off two suckers and place at the bottom of the window. Worked for me when I had the same problem.

If you do this OP make sure to put some paper under the tape where it meets the paint at the top of the window. Tape residue can be a b****h to get off car paint, easier on glass.

So I used some tape and wedged some flexible plastic in but last night I went over a large ramp and the whole window has gone down into the door :( Rang a garage and they are saying it could be the regulator which cost a bit. How much are we talking? I might just use the video biko posted and do a temporary fix. What tools will I need for this job?

I have taken two or three primeras apart and managed to fix them, though nothing was broken luckily enough. The glass simply lost its bond to the grooved brackets and it was a case of roughing up the glass surface that sits into the two brackets and using a good adhesive sealer. I think it was windscreen sealer I used. Let it dry for a day or two before using the window and all was good. Theyre a bit tricky to manage though.

I wouldnt go near it unless you know exactly what your doing. My dad did one when that happened and the window smashed in a million pieces.

Ok so I got the plastic cover off without any problems

This gave me more room to look down inside the door and see if the window was damaged. It looks intact but how do I take the glass panel out to line it back up? I tried pulling it out with a coat hanger. I can get a good grip on it but it just wont go past the rim of the window because it is diss aligned

Looking in at the left side the only way to get it back in place would be to slip it in from the top of the window but how the hell am I going to do that?

Have the window all the way up now on the two clips. From the looks the regulator is fine but both plastic clips on the bottom of the window need bonding.

Thanks for everyones input. Never did any car maintenance all the post were very helpful :)
