Film Camera - Zenit 11 Helios Lens

So I'm taking the plunge into the world of film photography! Could be a terrible idea, but if you never try, you never know :)

I'm looking at purchasing an old Zenit 11 as it's pretty affordable and is supposedly (reasonably) reliable for an old camera.

I'm wondering is there a difference in the lenses of the following cameras:

They seem to be similar but I'm a complete newbie so I could be totally wrong... Any help/advice would be great! :D

both lenses are the same, the famous or perhaps infamous Helios 44 :-D Great lens. Known for it's swirly wirly OOF when shot wide open, some examples here.

Wouldn't get a Zenit 11 though. If you want in-camera metering it has a selenium meter which, if it still works, probably won't for long and won't be particularly accurate. If you're going for older screwmount bodies I'd go for a spotmatic 500/1000 or one of the cheap as chips Fujica or Mamiya bodies before I'd go with any of the FSU bodies.

Cheers, thanks Daire! I was actually looking for a Fujica, but couldn't find anything local and factoring in postage and stuff it just worked out too expensive. I hadn't looked for a Mamiya, I'll check them out. Any thoughts on a Minolta SR1? It's a pretty old model... Also your shots are something special! :D

Wouldn't touch an olympus 101 with a ten foot pole TBH.
