I know lads lookin for between 400 & 500 euro for pups.I can tell you ive had a lot of good dogs over the years & none of them cost anything like that.none of them had the mighty ftch in their pedigree but still good workin honest dogs.....

breeding and rearing pups can be an expensive exercise , stud fees, vets fees, decent food , KC registration all eat into the price of a pup but 300 euro in my experience is enough for any pup and leaves enough for everyone

In my experience I wouldn't pay any more for a pup that 300-400 for an exceptional one ,

Just some people think 200 is too much for a pup , and like said about the cost of a litter of pups is expensive

i sent you a pm mate.i know of some lads that have kept dogs through generations of familys and no papers at them and them machines.but if your breeding down the line it helps to have a decent bloodline.because its usually the first thing a buyer asks.me personally i like a mix of field trial and good honest rough shooting dogs through the lines.

cockers from good stuff are hard to find and the parents are usually tiny ,i hunted a plantation today and any cocker would of been left at the start line ,friend oof mine went to scotland last year to a friend of his and he said all his cockers were big strong dogs with a bit of leg which is hard to find

300/350 is enough for GOOD pups.go across the pond and for the same breeding here as their expect to pay twice maybe 3 times as much.

your wrong their mate.you must not be in to your cockers.i went to a few breeders the last while and none were tiny like little tanks which is the welsh breeding.thats a very brave statement any cocker would have been left at the start line how can you say that you must not have seen a decent cocker so.plantation is easy cover anyway woodcock ar just sitting on the out side of it so any half decent dog would work it.its like eveything you can get a good one and bad one.

in places the going was hard to walk for us let alone a dog ,i didnt mean in terms of cover i meant in terms of the height of the grass and ground cover ,the few cockers i have seen never impressed me so yes your right ive never seen a decent one,not saying there isnt good ones but i have had 3 and would never choose one over a springer anyway ,they are good in there own right and they work for you so what more do u want.

its funny when i seen this pop actually because i was away shooting with all springer men up in roscomman and it was the opposite when they seen my cocker working that will be their next dog a few said.he is just gone 14 months and banging out woodcock.but in saying that im out 4 days a week with him so he is getting alot of work.each to the own i guess.your a springer man and im a cocker man/gsp.its like everything thing you can get a good one and a bad one

is it fair to ask what way that dog is bred and have u any good pic of him ,sounds like a cracker

not just saying it cause he is my dog but he is a good one and anyone how shot over says he is serious. not a dog for drilling into cover he hunts smart and has unbelievable stamina.this is last few days what was mostly shot over him.some pheasants were over the gsp all woodcock over cocker and a 2 or 3 cocks and the ducks retrieved by him.he is only 10 months in the pic alot stockier now.for a dog of his age he is unreal he is only a pup really this season is only a learning curve.
