Alternative to UPC

This is probably a pretty stupid question but myself and my husband are clueless.

We're in an apartment block and we're not allowed to have satellite dishes or aerials on the building. We have UPC at the moment and the service is shocking. We have terrible trouble recording programmes and I'm on to them all the time with problems. Do we have any other options? I think Sky requires a dish. My parents have free satellite but they also have a dish for that.

Our contract is up in Feb and I'm sick of paying them for such a shoddy service. We're just starting to look at options now so any suggestions would be welcome.

Some sat dishes can be unobtrusive but you need to point it in the right direction (28.2 E)

Very interesting.

Do any companies, in Ireland, install these Self Sat dishes? Are they really unobtrusive?

Another alternative is to get onto your management company and request a communal satellite dish.

A single dish can be placed on the roof out of sight and it can feed all apartments. If enough people ask for it the management company will have to install it.

The whole process could take months though

What are the chances of getting away with this in an apartment block? Can I hide it even more with a flower box or something?!

I think they can be painted to blend in with brickwork, or a printed transfer could be used.
