Advice on vintage style watch for €200?

Hi, was just looking for some help. Cash is tight but would like to get a nice watch for circa €200. Would like something with a vintage/classic look.

From perusing the threads here, the watches that seem to stick out the most to me are the Eastern Block/ Russian style watches. Preferably I would like something with a leather strap.

Based on what I see in the threads here, most of these style watches are sold via ebay and so I would really appreciate any advice or suggestions on what watches might be available in this price range (if any!) and on sellers.

Can't think of anything right now out of current Russian production that is vintage style & classic and in your price bracket ...which means you have to go genuine vintage.
Great choice there ...but the watches tend to be a bit small (dia 35 or less), somewhat more fragile and not waterproof ..not really daily wear material.

Wow thanks for the great leads. All those watches look fantastic. This made me have a look at the finances (credit card) again today and have decided to push my limit to circa €300-€350. Basically I have decided to treat myself! So I once again come hoping for some more excellent advice/leads!

Too true! I quite like the face of the first Orient picture you posted. Anything similar really.I havent a great knowledge of watches but spent alot of time yestersay looking at various threads and have to say, I think I really like German/ Russian watch asthetics.

I know that probably makes things more vague but have to say your recommendations yesterday were right on the nail. Just want to benefit from maybe more options/quality by spending a few bob more!

What a night. Started lookin at various watches at 8 p.m and next thing its 11.30!!! Time well spent. Well, seem to have distilled my taste down into about 3 or 4 watches (that I can afford). Not finished by a long shot but here is what I am looking at. Any comments?

Other than that ...all pretty fine watches.
I've got two Vostok Europes myself that I'm very happy with and Zeppelin is still on the list.

Out of the three the last one would be my favourite ...simply because it's mechanical and not quartz.

Thanks Peasant. Wow big price difference there on the Zeppelin!. I also like that Vostok the most. So many beautiful watches on this forum alone, I reckon I will defintely need another few hours sifting through them and drooling,just on the chance I see something else. That said I would be delighted with any of the three I posted and the Orients you brought to my attention.

Myself and Homer got the same lovely Poljot on eBay for under €80. Add a decent strap and it looks great. I'm on the mobile now so can't link but I'll try and link you a pic of it later.

Made in the 60's with Russian blood and tears and still going strong

Some info I found on the interweb about the watch..
The movement in the watch is marked 2614.2H, where "H" is Cyrillic for the Roman "N", the same movement that powered the "Jessica". Made from 1972 it was made in large quantities, and many were supplied to other watch manufacturers - "Jessica" is one example. Vostok now owns the tooling for this movement (and probably the automatic version 2616.2H) but not doing much with it.

It might be helpful to learn the standard movement code convention too. In this example, "26" means movement diameter in mm, "14" means centre-second, shock-proof, hand-wind with date; the "2H" after the dot means third new design.
