scaffolding planks

I am in the process of getting scaffolding together for a 2 storey house.
I have all the scaffolding but only 50 planks.I think I will need about 250
altogether. Not too sure whether to buy them or rent them.
Got a price of 5euro each for good second hand planks from a company very near me.They would rather sell than rent as the planks will be up for a few months.
    Any recommendations or advice??

You will have no problem selling them on after your job is finished especially if they are fairly good. I bought 40 during the summer to make a fence at 4 each. Check out adverts and you will see that there is always plenty of interest.
I would buy if its going to be a long job.

    Hi Mapboy
You would probably be as well buying. You can use inside again when plastering internally. You will need a scaffolding ticket to erect scaffold, because it has to be signed off as fit for purpose and safe.

A person who has done the correct course, usually the basic course is enough for domestic.

So if block layer arrives with his own scaffolding and puts it up who signs off on this.

If the blocklayer is putting up the scaffolding then he should have done the basic course. If he has'nt then he/ project manager is in breach of health and safety regs.
